Hydraulic Control Valve

100X–800X series · DN50–DN400 · pilot-set function
Function is set by the external pilot: 100X remote float control, 200X pressure reducing, 300X slow-shutoff check, 400X flow control, 500X pressure sustaining / relief.
Return spring Pilot loop (schematic) Strainer Needle Ball Tank Upstream tap feeds the loop; the float pilot admits or vents the cover chamber. Cover, upper chamber Diaphragm, EPDM Stem and disc holder Disc, rubber seated Seat, full port Ductile iron body, integral flanges Inlet flange DN100 DN100 PN16 100X remote float control valve: face-to-face 292 mm, height 255 mm, flange OD 220 mm, 8 holes 19 mm Line pressure lifts the disc; the pilot loop admits cover chamber pressure to close it as the tank fills The cover chamber, not the water line, drives the disc: a small pressure differential is needed to work Body and flange dimensions from published DN100 PN16 remote float control valve data
The Workhorse: Resilient-Seated Gate Valve For potable water mains the resilient-seated gate valve is the default choice: soft-seated wedge gives bubble-tight isolation with a full bore, and it is quoted against EN 1074 / BS 5163 / EN 1171 with EN 558 face-to-face and EN 1092 flanges. For high temperature or solids in suspension, switch to a metal-seated wedge or a knife gate valve.
Three Questions Before Replacing Existing Valves ① Face-to-face standard (EN 558 vs DIN 3202 / ISO 5752) — a mismatch means the valve cannot drop into the existing pipeline gap; ② flange drilling and rating (EN 1092 PN vs ASME B16.5 Class); ③ operation: OS&Y (outside screw and yoke) rising stem, NRS non-rising (buried / tight space), electric actuator, signal or lockable type.
Second Main Line: Hydraulic Control Valves 100X–800X Pilot-operated hydraulic control valves for pressure, level, flow and pump protection: the main valve is driven by line pressure, and on the 100X / 200X / 300X / 400X / 500X the function follows the hydraulic pilot — no external power. The 600X adds an electrical (solenoid) pilot for remote open/close, and the 800X holds a constant pressure differential across an HVAC supply/return. Range DN50 – DN400 · PN10 / PN16.
Diaphragm chamber Return spring Plug off seat (open) Needle valve (sets closing speed) Pilot valve function set here Sensing line (from the inlet) Ductile iron body Inlet low · outlet high across the seat (S-flow) Main valve is common — the pilot valve sets the function
Pilot-operated hydraulic control valve — the main valve is common to the 100X–800X family; the pilot valve sets the function (float, pressure reducing, flow control or pressure sustaining), and the needle valve sets the closing speed.

BS and DIN gate valves share one European dimensional system BS 5163 and DIN 3352 gate valves share one European dimensional system (EN 558 face-to-face, EN 1092 flanges), so face-to-face and flange dimensions interchange where DN, PN and the face-to-face series match. Always confirm the existing pipeline face-to-face and bolt circle before ordering.

about -40 C about -80 C about -120 C above -20 C at the gland -162 C LNG service Packing gland Extended bonnetstainless neck, 250 mm Drip plate Frost on the cold side Stainless cold parts
  • Extended bonnet
250 mm minimum neck for non-cold-box service (BS 6364) - keeps the gland seal out of the cold zone
  • Why the gland stays warm
Packing must stay above -20 C; a short neck freezes the seal and the stem cannot move
  • Handwheel and yoke
Fixed handwheel, outside-screw yoke - standard operator, no special cryogenic part
  • Face-to-face
    350 mm long pattern / 190 mm short pattern, DN100 PN16 (EN 558)
  • Flanges
    EN 1092-2: OD 220 mm, 8 x Ø19 mm, 20 mm thick
  • Overall height
Approx. 550-610 mm depending on neck length and operator
  • Service range
Down to -162 C (LNG) - frost and cold-box insulation shown on the body
  • Temperature
Falls along the neck: about -162 C at the body, above -20 C at the gland
Deep Cryogenic Treatment (−196 °C Soaking) Austenitic stainless steel (CF8/CF8M) bodies and trim undergo liquid nitrogen immersion at −196 °C prior to final machining to eliminate martensitic phase transformation distortion.
Unidirectional Cavity Relief Orientation Cryogenic ball and gate valves with upstream relief holes are unidirectional. Fit the valve so the upstream relief hole faces the pressure side; follow the arrow on the body.
