DIN 3352 F5 is the shorter face-to-face series, and that is its whole purpose: where the pipe run was laid out to F5 there is no room for an F4 body, so the choice is not a preference — it is the dimension in the drawing. Same construction as the F4 build otherwise: GGG40/50 ductile iron, fusion-bonded epoxy, EPDM-encapsulated wedge, non-rising stem for buried service, PN16, DN40–DN600. Check the face-to-face before ordering; the two look identical in a photograph and are not interchangeable in the trench.
