A single-size valve with a machined copper gland: DN100, PN16, metal-to-metal seat, ductile iron QT450 body, handwheel. The copper gland is the old answer to stem leakage on hot-water service — a brass or copper packing nut that does not rust into the bonnet and can be re-packed in place, where a steel gland on a heating main seizes after a few seasons. It is a plant and heating valve, quoted when the spec calls for one size rather than a range. For a full size run, the BS5163 or GB metal-seated series covers it.
