A dial indicator on an NRS valve: the stem turns inside the body where nobody can see it, and this adds a pointer and a scale on the bonnet so the wedge lift is read as a number instead of judged by how many turns the man remembers. On a network where valves are set to a partly-open position, that is the difference between a flow that can be balanced and one that is guessed at every shift. Retrofittable on a standard NRS body, gear or wrench nut operation, potable-water epoxy body.
