An AWWA C509 / C515 resilient-seated gate valve with a rising stem, built for fire mains: the stem rises through the yoke as the valve opens, so anyone in the plant can read the position from the floor without a gauge, and the stem tells the truth when the indicator does not. Above ground this is the standard build; that is the whole argument for OS&Y. Ductile iron, fusion-bonded epoxy, EPDM-encapsulated wedge, 200 psi class, DN40–DN600, UL/FM listing on request. Buried, the rising stem and yoke are the wrong answer — take the NRS version.
