MZ45X / MZ45T is the buried valve with its operating point brought to grade: gearbox on top, extension spindle to a cap or an indicator post, so the valve is worked standing up instead of in the trench. The body is epoxy coated and can be polywrapped — the coating is the only thing between ductile iron and soil, and a scratched coating is why buried valves seize. EPDM seat (X) for water, metal (T) for hot service; DN50–DN600. Record where it is: a buried valve without a post and a drawing is a valve that gets dug up.
