Vertical, axial-suction, single-stage, single-casing centrifugal slurry pump that sits submerged in the sump with the drive above the floor. Because the hydraulic end is under the liquid, there is no shaft seal and no seal water to supply — the two things that fail first on a horizontal pump used in a sump. It also keeps running under insufficient suction, which is why it is used on sump, pit and tank drainage where the level swings. The wetted parts are available in wear-resistant metal or rubber, and the submerged length is built to the pit depth. Outlet DN40–DN300, flow 18–1,267 m³/h, head 4–40 m; used for submerged, abrasive, coarse-particle, high-concentration slurry in metallurgy, mining, coal and power.

Applications

No shaft seal, because the hydraulic end is under the liquid
The pump sits in the sump with the drive above the floor, so there is no shaft seal and no seal water to supply. Those are the two things that fail first on a horizontal pump used in a sump, and removing them is the whole point of this layout.
It also keeps running under insufficient suction, which matters where the level swings and the pump is expected to recover the pit rather than trip.
Submerged length is a selection input, not an accessory
The submerged length is built to the pit depth, and the wetted parts are available in wear-resistant metal or rubber. A short column will not reach the liquid and a long one puts load on the column bearings, so the depth and the solids belong in the enquiry together.
Compared with a horizontal pump on the same duty, the vertical sump pump trades efficiency for the absence of a suction line and priming.
