Single-stage double suction pump with a horizontally split casing: the double suction impeller balances axial thrust, gives a wide capacity and head range at high efficiency, and keeps net positive suction head requirements low — which is why this design is standard on chemical plant transfer duty where the suction vessel is tall and the flow is large. Seals and flushing/cooling plans are selected per application, so the same pump covers clean corrosive service and solids-bearing slurry service. The same hydraulic design also serves clean-water duty, with casing and internals selected to the pumped medium. Flow 100–10,000 m³/h, head 5–250 m, design pressure 1.6 MPa, medium temperature −20 to 150 °C; model designation reads diameter + head / speed, for example 500-6/1490. Typical installations are phosphoric and sulphuric acid plants, fertiliser works, desulphurisation and general process transfer.

A double suction impeller is about thrust and NPSH
The impeller draws from both sides, so axial thrust is balanced and the net positive suction head requirement drops. On chemical plant transfer duty — tall suction vessels, large flows — that is what allows a single-stage pump to be used where a multistage would otherwise be needed.
The casing is horizontally split, so the rotor can be lifted out for inspection without disturbing the pipework.
Seals and flushing plans follow the medium
Seal type and the flushing or cooling plan are selected per application, which is how one pump covers clean corrosive service and solids-bearing slurry service. Published range: 100–10,000 m³/h, head 5–250 m, design pressure 1.6 MPa, medium −20 to 150 °C.
Typical installations are phosphoric and sulphuric acid plants, fertiliser works and flue gas desulphurisation.
